Western North Carolina Hurricane Helene Relief

The southeastern US has shown incredible care, generosity, and resourcefulness in helping the citizens of western NC recover from Hurricane Helene. The storm has deeply affected the entire region, but from the very beginning, people have stepped up to donate, volunteer, and provide logistical support.

I saw this firsthand when I delivered supplies from InfraPros to a donation center at the Greensboro Airport. The Petty Foundation supported a grassroots effort, and the place was buzzing with activity. Volunteers were unloading trucks, sorting donations, and preparing them for transport. Private planes were lined up, ready to fly supplies to Asheville. And another group of volunteers was making sure everyone had food and water to keep their energy up.

Similar efforts were happening all across the state and in neighboring states, with ordinary people filling the gap before government aid arrived. This experience has shown me the strength and resilience of our community. Western North Carolina will come back stronger than ever, and I'm confident that we'll always be there to support each other in times of need.
